Microsoft and NYPD Team Up to Track Crime
Microsoft to Help NYPD launch all-seeing system to track crime
Staff Report
NEW YORK, NY - No, it is not a giant robot run by Windows Vista that frequently experiences a "BSOD" (Blue Screen of Death) while keeping an eye on crime.
According to New York Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly, the new system being put in place combines video surveillance around the large city with law enforcement databases.
The new system is being called the "Domain Awareness System" and will be unveiled by the New York Mayor - Bloomberg - within the next few weeks as it comes online to keep an eye on crime - and everything else.
Kelly spoke today at the Aspen Security Forum about the new system, saying it was a good idea that would help prevent future terrorist attacks.
