FB Jumps the Shark: Facebook Timeline Being Rolled Out Whether You Want it Or Not

Facebook Will Change Your Profile to Timeline This Fall, Like It or Not‎

Staff Report

MENLO PARK, CA - Perhaps it is because Mark Zuckerberg recently lost over $7 billion when Facebook stock prices continued their plunge, but the Facebook Timeline is being rolled out over the next week.

Over the last few months, Facebook has been encouraging people to try the new Facebook Timeline, but now they will be rolling it out to all members whether they like it or not.

They are taking their time doing this, but many people knew it was coming. Will the forced move to Facebook Timeline be the "jump the shark" moment for Facebook?

According to reports on the Internet, the forced switch to the Timeline design is because of recent changes to how Facebook handles photos on the website. Still, the move has many people upset. Then again, you don't make 900 million friends without making some enemies.

We asked Facebook to confirm the timeframe Constine first reported — on the off-chance that there is more time — but a spokesperson simply told us that "the hope is to have everyone moved over to Timeline by fall."

It will be interesting to see how this move will affect Facebook stocks, which are down quite a bit from their initial IPO price. For those who are not happy about the move, contacting Facebook by phone email or smoke signal may be the only way to let them know about your feelings. Or you could stop using Facebook altogether. Remember MySpace?
