Good Brother and Sister Halloween Costume Ideas for 2012

Staff Report

MUNCIE, IN - Looking for some great ideas on brother and sister Halloween costumes? The good news is that you do not need to spend a lot of time or money. If you start thinking about Halloween 2012 now, you're going to find that you're actually able to enjoy the holidays when they arrive.

One of the hardest tasks may be finding a pair (or set) of costumes that everyone can agree on - especially if they are separated by more than a year or two. However, with the right mindset and a little effort, you're sure to be able to come up with something that BOTH of them will enjoy this year.

Here are some basic ideas for Halloween costumes for brothers and sisters.

  • Lilo and Stitch - This is a cute double costume idea for smaller children. Not all of them are going to be into it, but there's a good chance it may work for you.
  • Peter Pan and Tinkerbell - Talk about a classic combination! This costume pair is actually fairly easy to find or put together yourself. You may have to talk to your son about wearing tights or go with something else, but it's a good idea.
  • Wizard of Oz - For more than one brother and sister, this is another classic Halloween costume idea that is sure to make everyone happy. With so many characters available, it should be easy.
  • Beauty and the Beast - What about Beauty and the Beast? This Disney classic has been redone, but the characters still ring true for many boys and girls. And what boy wouldn't want to be a snarling beast?
  • Crayola Crayons - This costume idea can be super cute for brothers and sisters. Whether they are younger or older, this is a good standby if you run out of other ideas and are struggling to come up with a good idea for a pair of costumes.
  • Batman and Batgirl - Beyond Batman, there's also Superman and Supergirl and so on and so forth. If both your children are into super hero movies, you're going to be in luck. There are quite a few good super hero costumes out there that are priced relatively inexpensively.
  • Alice in Wonderland - This is another great themed-costume idea for brothers and sisters with quite a few characters available. There are so many, in fact, that there should be something for everyone in your whole family if the older members still like to dress-up - and we know that many do!
  • Scooby-Doo - This is a favorite cartoon of many little boys and girls - as well as some teenagers. Again, there are a few male and female characters, so there should be a good costume for everyone. The Scooby costume may be the most expensive, but it does not need to be if you get a little creative.
  • Raggedy Ann and Andy - This is definitely an "old school," Halloween costume idea, but it's relatively easy to put together and for younger children, it may be just the thing to make sure everyone in the world knows they are brother and sister!
  • M&M's - If they cannot decide on anything else, you may just want to dress them all up as M&M candies. Although with the new Superbowl commercial this year, you want to make sure they do not disrobe thinking they are funny when out trick-or-treating.
  • Pebbles and BamBam - Not everyone is going to remember the Flintstones, but for baby brother and sister, this is a good idea that will not take a lot of effort or money to put together. Be careful with the giant clubs!

Finding a good Halloween costume for brother and sister does not need to be difficult. Halloween 2012 is shaping up to be huge this year, even with the struggling economy. Sometimes, people just want to have fun and be able to enjoy the little moments in life with their family. This is where Halloween excels for many people, making it their favorite holiday of the year.
