MUNCIE, IN - There's a stark contrast with how Christian Ministries of Delaware County and LifeStream Services deal with people and provide them service.

Becki Clock, executive director of Christian Ministries was heartbroken Friday when she could not get enough federal Community Development money to keep sleeping rooms for homeless men open this year.

MUNCIE, IN - The Animal Rescue Fund has spent 15 years providing shelter, medical care, and love to more than 100 animals at a time. 

Over the years, the organization has struggled with the financial burden of caring for these animals, as well as helping low-income pet owners in the community by providing free pet food and vouchers for spay/neuter surgeries at little to no cost to the pet owners. 

On Thursday, ARF put out a plea via Facebook requesting funding from its more than 6,000 Facebook followers. 

Harvestor “Smokey” Pryor has put together a weekend carnival to remember  Jamel Barnes and stress that Peace is Important

MUNCIE, IN -  The senseless killing of Jamel Barnes has inspired a community to hold a “Keep the Peace” weekend with a ball, carnival, music jam and a visit by the world-famous Harlem Wizards.

Harvestor “Smokey” Pryor, president of CEO of Pryor Foundation, is organizing the community event that will benefit Barnes’ favorite charity, the Muncie Boy’s and Girl’s Club.

“There was just months of violence..kids with guns, shooting up houses,” said Pryor, about last October when Barnes was killed. “It was time for people to step up and try to make a difference in the community.”

CAMBRIDGE CITY, IN -  Just in Service was out of service again Wednesday along Interstate 70 when the food truck was stopped for a routine inspection.

Trooper Jeremy Woods,  of the commercial vehicle enforcement division of the Indiana State Police, found the refrigeration unit of the truck to be defective. The storage area, Woods reported, was 77.2 degrees instead of what the law allows at 41.
