Black Flags and Egyptian Protesters at US Embassy in Cairo
Around 2,000 angry Egyptian Protesters Descended on the US embassy in Cairo to protest American film that allegedly insults Prophet Mohammed

CAIRO, EGYPT - Reuters and others are reporting protests at the US Embassy in Cairo, Egypt Tuesday night. According to report, the US flag was pulled down and subsequently burned.
Protesters then tried to replace the flag with a black one with "There is no God but Allah and Mohammad is his messenger", written in Arabic, according to a Reuters reporter.
Earlier Tuesday, the embassy released a statement.
“Today, the 11th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States, Americans are honoring our patriots and those who serve our nation as the fitting response to the enemies of democracy.
“Respect for religious beliefs is a cornerstone of American democracy. We firmly reject the actions by those who abuse the universal right of free speech to hurt the religious beliefs of others,” the embassy in a release according to Bikya Masr..
