    MUNCIE, IN - The next step to the proposed $400 million Mounds Lake development will be engineering, geology and hydrology studies to determine the flow, depth, scope and size of the reservoir primarily built in Madison County.

    Delaware County Commissioners endorsed the study Monday like governments of Daleville and Chesterfield this month, with Madison County Commissioners also on board.

    YORKTOWN, IN - A vision for a new downtown will come from another consultant, not people, as the Republican Yorktown Town Council decided Monday to spend $40,500 with the Indiana Association of Cities and Towns on a planner to come up with a action plan.

    MUNCIE, IN - Psi Iota Xi has been helping one community at a time over the last century and reached out locally this month to help those in need and with education.

    The womens' sorority announced nearly $40,000 in grants this month to help Christian Ministries and A Better Way besides a scholarship to keep the late philanthropist Mary Maxon's work alive.

    MUNCIE, IN - Ball State's geothermal energy station roared with power from beneath the ground as members of the Hoosier Interfaith Power and Light group had a few questions Sunday, also the day of Pentecost.

     Retired minister Charlie Mason of Grace Episcopal Church wondered what would happen to the large underground water pump and circulation system if there was an earthquake. Others wondered how the station would function in a massive power outage.

    Jim Lowe, who heads facilities, planning and management at the university, assured more than 30 people that the water pumping systems would not be impacted by an earthquake given the flexibility of the piping system besides not being deep enough to matter.

    MUNCIE, IN  - Keeping the Peace in memory of Jamel Barnes was a huge success Saturday as the Harlem Wizards entertained and played before more than 300 people at Southside High School.

    Mayor Dennis Tyler took the court as the leader of Mel Beezy as the Wizards ran, jumped and outshot their competitors by an easy score of 74-45.

    Regardless of the outcome, Tyler said it was a smiles on all the faces of youth who were watching the antics of the Wizards like King Arthur, Tomahawk, Space Jam, and Air Jamaica who reenacted the glory days of the former Harlem Globetrotters who were beloved by millions.
