INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Halloween is now just days away, but there is still a little time to get your costume. You can most likely pay a little more and still get something shipped in time if you order online, but you may end up having to go out to the stores to see what is left.

Before you face the crowds, however, it is a good idea to check online to see if you can still get something cheaper even with paying a little more for shipping. This is not your only option, but it's sometimes the easiest one.

If you are wanting a last minute Halloween costume idea, we have some tips and suggestions that may help you put something together last minute so your little one is not too disappointed on the big day.

• Scavenger Hunt - If you are down to the wire, you can search around your house frantically for a costume or you can sit down and put together a list of ideas so that you know what you need BEFORE you start tearing the house apart looking.
• Inspiration - There's a good chance your children are already clamoring over the fact they don't have their costume yet, but you can turn to them for some ideas on what they might want to be - hopefully something you can whip up at home.
• Store Bought - If you can't come up with a good idea or don't have the necessary items, you can still probably head down to Walmart, Target or even Meijers to see what costumes they have left. There are a lot of seasonal stores around Indiana that are still open as well.

While it may be too late this Halloween to put good practices to use, you should take some time to remember how stressed out you are right now so that you begin preparing for next Halloween as soon as this one is over. A lot of the time, you can get costumes at a deeply discounted price the day after Halloween - then save the costume for next year. If the children complain, just tell them there's more candy in it for them.
