  • No Starvation - While you may think that starving yourself day in and day out is the best way to lose weight, this is not healthy and may be counterproductive. Most doctors and dieticians recommend losing no more than one or two pounds per week. To do this, you do not need to drastically cut out most of the food in your diet. However, planning your meals more carefully and cutting down on sweets and fats can go a long way in helping you get in shape.
  • Supplements - There are also some supplements on the market that can help boost the body's metabolism and help burn fat in other ways. It is important to do research on these, however, before deciding on which route to take.
