MUNCIE, IN - A popular Chinese buffet was back in business this week after resolving public health concerns about not having certified food handlers.

Teppanyaki Grill & Buffet, 4221 W. Bethel Ave.,  closed last week after the Delaware County Board of Health found repeated critical violations in the preparation and handling of food.

Health officials recommended owner Yao Hang close until the issues were corrected, including not having certified food handlers or having necessary protection in food preparation areas.

Josh Williams, health administrator, offered a report Tuesday that the buffet complied with all health laws and was allowed to reopen.

The health department conducts routine inspections to ensure public health safety at local food and beverage establishments.
