MUNCIE, IN - A meandering stone drive welcomes Shaffer Gardens’ guests to its seven acres of woodland trails, luxurious mansion and an unparalleled experience ahead. Once, the Bradburn mansion of Myron Bradburn, the building exudes elegance and sophistication; while still maintaining a warm, welcoming charm.
Guests who take part in a romantic, “B&B” getaway, will have their choice of seven spacious suites. Each room is themed for indulgence, the favorite being “Angels Around Us” for its wondrous view from the suite’s large bay window and its romance-inspiring decor.
The suites are equipped for relaxation. Each dwelling has its own personal bathroom, jacuzzi bathtub for sore muscles, plush furniture, plenty of natural light and gorgeous scenery to re-energize the spirit and soothe the mind. With such lovely amenities, guests may have trouble leaving these rooms in time for checkout.
In addition to the Bed and Breakfast service, Shaffer Gardens hosts a multitude of special events including, wedding ceremonies, receptions, corporate meetings, and special dinners.
Owners since November 2012, Josh and Sabrina Newsome, along with Josh Newsome’s parents, Roger and Betty Newsome, love making each of their guest’s experience a personalized one.
For the perfect (and unbeatably unique) wedding ceremony and reception entrance, who wouldn’t want to ride in on a carriage? Shaffer Gardens works with numerous local, Muncie companies to offer such services as, horse drawn carriage entrances, limo service and even personalized uplighting. “We can actually project the couple’s name on the front of the building...or use the colors of your wedding in the uplighting.” Says Josh Newsome.
“We provide a really unique experience for our guests.” Says Josh Newsome. Shaffer Gardens has three different relaxation packages. The first, a spa package in the glossy, wood paneled spa room; a massage package for tense individuals or couples and an “extras” package which includes a variety of special treats including, local Tonne Wine, delicious chocolates or a sprinkling of rose petals.
Sabrina Newsome shared an example of how Shaffer Gardens makes each guest’s experience personal. Instead of decorating a reception with flower petals, Sabrina Newsome suggested short and sweet notes, each unfolding to a special quote from the couple. “We individualize it [each event] for a very unique experience.” says Sabrina Newsome.
Shaffer Gardens also provides the ultimate Valentine’s Day gift package for those looking to impress. Couples can relax together in each other’s company, during this hour long massage performed by skilled masseuses from, the Northern Lights School of Massage for $150 per hour. Afterwards, couples may peruse the many woodland trails, hand in hand; they may even spot the Shaffer Gardens’ resident fox among the other striking wildlife and foliage.
This year, Shaffer Gardens will host an extra special Valentine’s Day dinner for a 92 year old couple this February in the mansion’s stunning library. The couple’s dinner is sure to be a treat, as it will be prepared by one of Shaffer Gardens’ three exclusive caterers.
In the future, Shaffer Gardens looks ahead to live performances in their theater room and continuing their work with donations and charities. This year, Shaffer Gardens is donating to the Home Show in Muncie, coming up in April and the Meridian Health Services Rialzo, in March.
