Anderson Mayor Addresses Questions About Anderson Fast Forward

Staff Report

ANDERSON, IN - Mayor Kevin S. Smith hit the ground running to actively inform the public of Anderson Fast Forward Friday, February 15. A Town Hall meeting and presentations were scheduled with Anderson and Madison County business clubs, not for profit organizations, and other interested parties to reach out and address questions and concerns raised during the regularly scheduled city council meeting, Thursday, February 14.

The Mayor is scheduled to next meet with the Noon Kiwanis and Lion Club noon, Thursday, February 21 at Methodist Church.

Madison County Chamber members, the Realtors Group, the Greater Anderson Business Club and Anderson Noon Rotary were among the first to receive a detailed presentation of Anderson Fast Forward from the Mayor and Interim Economic Development Director Greg Winkler. During these meetings Mayor Smith discussed the importance of long term development to promote job growth.

"Our obligation is to properly inform our residents as well as those outside our community of Anderson Fast Forward, "said Charlee Turner, spokesperson for the city of Anderson. "We believe our community's ability to compete and progress in the future is dependent on our ability to take action today."

Among presentation meetings already scheduled into March, an Anderson Town Hall Meeting was scheduled early February to discuss Anderson Fast Forward. The meeting will be held at the Geater Center Thursday, March 21, 6 p.m.
