Get Real Beer at the Heorot with Wolves Head Brewing at Valhalla in Downtown Muncie

MUNCIE, IN - The Heorot has been a Muncie staple for the past 19 years, but has impressed thousands across the globe. The bar’s infamous specialty and homebrew collection has caught the eye of Draft magazine, GreatBeer.com and Beer Advocate.
The bar has earned multiple awards including, “Top 100 bars in the Counry” by Draft magazine, “Best Beer in Indiana” by GreatBeer.com and “134th Best Bar in the World” by Beer Advocate.
The Heorot’s newest addition, the old Doc’s location, renamed “Valhalla”, is being used as a creation center for the Heorot’s own homebrew brand, “Wolves Head Brewing”.
Valhalla has been busy creating delicious homebrews for the past three months in order to compensate for Heorot customer’s demand for more, since Wolves Head Brewing’s first homebrew reveal, in November 2012. “We couldn’t keep our [homebrew] beer in stock,” says Heorot owner Stan Stevens, “we’re doubling the brew kettles.”
Valhalla, named after a Norse mythological hall of great beauty and majesty, is now open on the weekends with “Walking Dead Nights” every Sunday. Heorot lovers are invited to catch the newest episode of the “Walking Dead”, projected on an enormous screen, with their friends at the end of every week.
Coming up on Feb 23rd, Stevens plans for a 20s party with Governor Davis and the Blues Ambassadors playing their bluesy/rock inspired tunes for all to enjoy at the Heorot. Patrons should also remember the bar’s “Trivia Night” every Wednesday to keep their brain cells buzzing while enjoying those cold n’ frosties.
“[The Heorot is] trying to bring in a wide range of beer to a wide range of people,” Stevens says of his clientele, “Everyone comes here...[in Muncie] there are themed bars, those hipster bars, who wants that?...”
The Heorot and Valhalla have great beer and a welcoming, eclectic style, but this bar also gives back. Every year the Heorot raises food for the Methodist Church on Madison street. “We usually donate around the end of January...people forget to donate after the holidays,” says Stevens, “this way, they have a little something to hold them over through the year.”
New homebrews from Wolves Head Brewing; the new venue, Valhalla; Walking Dead Nights and Trivia Wednesdays, it seems there’s always something fun to check out at the Heorot. This bar will remain a staple in the Muncie area and a well-renowned establishment across state, country and the globe.
