MUNCIE, IN - Steve DeAnda appreciates all the support from the community for his new American Chevrolet Cadillac auto dealership in Muncie that opens August 31st on McGalliard and Nebo Roads. You can reach out to them via the American Chevy Muncie Facebook Fan Page.
The structure of the 42,000 square foot dealership which includes a state of the art service facility began construction last winter. Mostly local work crews have worked diligently to complete the project on schedule.
Companies like B and L Drywall, Lehman’s Heating and Cooling, Reid Electric, Manor Brothers Concrete, Love Roofing and 3D Construction have really pulled through for the project. The cities of Muncie and Yorktown and Delaware County have also facilitated the project without regard to politics. DeAnda says that everyone involved in government has been positive and enthusiastic about developing our community.
For DeAnda, the move was a natural progression motivated by GM’s desire to improve sales and service environments and a landlord who continually raised rents in his current facility.
While the new building is a big risk for DeAnda, he feels that his costs of doing business will actually decrease which will allow his store to offer consumers even better pricing. More for less money…DeAnda says “that’s the American way”.
As more business rises at McGalliard and Nebo roads, the Muncie Visitors Bureau will take a prime spot to welcome people to Middletown USA.
Local convention and tourism interests intend to build a new $2 million bureau at that corner in the next year as other major public improvements take place.
That location, says Visitors Bureau Director James Mansfield, will be the gateway to the community, its hotel district down the road, and of course, Ball State University and its athletic facilities.
The current bureau is located on South Madison Street as a gateway to Prairie Creek Reservoir near Selma and the Academy for Model Aeronautics on Memorial Drive.
Besides the new welcome center, the McGalliard-Nebo intersection also will get a rebuild to lower the grade and Nebo will be widen and landscaped south of there with a new traffic roundabout located at its Jackson Street intersection.
Look for all the work to be done by 2015 as more commercial development is anticipated near the new American Chevrolet and Kia Muncie car dealerships now being built. You can learn more at the American Chevy Muncie Facebook Fan Page.
