Sue Errington Mugged in Indianapolis
INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Sue Errington, Democratic Senator representing Muncie, was mugged in a Northside Indianapolis CVS parking lot at 119 W. 56th St., about 9:30 p.m. Monday night.
[editor's note, by kpaul] Edited to add more details at the end.According to Jason Tomcsi, who works in her office, she had been staying with some friends after her first day in session. On her way home, she stopped at a Northside CVS.
As she was leaving, she saw some men across the street. They approached her and grabbed her purse. She pulled back. A gun was then pointed at her face by one of the men while the other punched her.
Errington suffered a black eye and bruising, but is in high spirits. She returned to the statehouse for today’s session.
“My feeling, more than fear, is anger. Now maybe that will change,” said Errington. “I think of myself as a survivor, not a victim,” she added. “And I hope that attitude helps me weather this.”
