11th Annual Rotary Quiz Bowl coming to Richmond
RICHMOND, IN - The Richmond Rotary Club is looking for teams to participate in the 11th Annual Rotary Quiz Bowl. The event is scheduled for Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. and will be held in Vivian Auditorium at Indiana University East. Teams consist of three members. In addition, an alternate and a team coach can be a part of the planning although only three members can compete at a time. Anyone can form a team, complete the application form, pay a $100 registration fee and join the competition to become this year's Trivia Champ. Past winners include a team of students, WKBV Radio, the Palladium Item, IU East and Reid Hospital. The first place wining team of the Rotary Quiz Bowl receives $200 and second place team receives $100.
Questions for the trivia contest range from history, sports, music, literature, and geography to popular culture and many other topics. Everyone has a great time - team members and the audience -- as everyone tries to guess the answers. Teams have dressed alike to show team spirit and get their memory juices flowing. The quiz bowl is a buzz-in question format. The number of teams determines the number of rounds played.
Team members are encouraged to arrive at 6:00 p.m. for sandwiches, review of the rules and the drawing for team pairings.
For additional information and applications contact Diana Pappin at 966-4898 or Max Bailey at 962-3577, co-chairs of this year's Rotary Quiz Bowl. Information is also available at the Richmond Rotary Club website.
